Alan M. Forney serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer for The Commerce Bank of Washington, a division of Zion’s Bancorporation N.A. and Executive Vice President of Zion’s Bancorporation. Named President and CEO in March 2018, Forney formerly served as the Chief Lending Officer for The Commerce Bank of Washington. He currently serves on the Bancorps Executive Management Committee, Strategic ALCO (Asset and Liability Management Committee), Enterprise Risk Management and participates in the Compliance Risk Management Committee.
Forney has been in the banking industry for 29 years, starting his career at Rainier Bank and subsequently working for Security Pacific Bank and U.S. Bank.
Forney holds a MBA from Seattle Pacific University and a bachelors degree in Economics from the University of Washington. He currently serves as an executive committee member on the Board of Boys and Girls Club of King County, the Seattle Police Foundation and the Board of Rowing Stewards at the University of Washington. He has previously spent time with United Way, Childhaven, Junior Achievement, Big Brothers of King County and has served as Treasurer for the Bellevue Breakfast Rotary Club and various other non-profit organizations.
